Paint & Wine-Milky Way Forest

For ages 18+

Anyone can paint; all you need is the right tools and the right wine!  Paint a beautiful work of art in a relaxed environment during this fun and informative 2-hour painting party workshop.  Every first Friday of the month the Tin Can Chandelier will be hosting a painting party for the beginner to advanced painter! While sipping on wine and painting at your own pace, one of our educated and skilled instructors will guide you through how simple it is to create a copy of a famous painting or replicate a fun and festive seasonal image. Within this relaxed and instructional workshop you will be taught how to mix colors, use certain types of painting techniques and walk away with a fantastic work of art to be proud of in just a small amount of time.

This is a BYOB event. Attendees can also bring in snacks or food to enjoy while painting. Corkscrews, cups, plates and silverware provided.

Get to Know Your Sewing Machine

Were you gifted a sewing machine or bought one for yourself only to find that you never learned how to use it? Daunted by the task of taking the time to teach yourself? Spend 2 hours with Rachel and let her teach you everything you need to know from threading your needle and bobbin to when to use all those different stitch setting and what their purposes are.

During this workshop, students will make an envelop clutch utilizing their new-found skills. Students will need to bring in their own sewing machine to use, a bobbin, seam ripper and their owners manual if they have one. Fabrics, thread, buttons, scissors, etc. will be provided by the TCC.

Arm Knitting

For ages 18+

During this fun evening out, Rachel will demonstrate how to knit a scarf using your own arms. This popular way of knitting will allow you to create a scarf that you will be able to wear right out of the TCC! You don’t need to be a knitter at all to join, but if you are, you will be familiar with the technique right away. Did I also mention you can bring wine?? Imagine a bunch of girls having fun trying to sip wine will knitting with their arms! This will be a fun time for sure, you won’t want to miss it! Bring a friend or come and meet a new one!

Bring your wine of choice and we’ll provide the rest. Corkscrews and cups provided.

Wood-Working for Women

Date: Tuesday, March 7th, 6-8pm
Cost: $40

This DIY workshop will introduce you to basic wood working skills while creating an eye-catching and fun project for your home, children, or for yourself to use! This month will feature the creation of 2 picture plaques as seen on Ohmy-creative.com. After building the plaques, students will be able to stain or paint them, give them a worn finish, (if so desired) and then use them to show off their favorite photos or artwork. Spend a couple hours with us having fun and leave with a completed project that will be ready to use as soon as you arrive home.

Linoleum Block Printmaking Workshop

Date: Saturday, April 8th, 11-2pm
Cost: $50

Within this 3-hour workshop you will learn how to carve a linoleum block to create an image to stamp onto paper. We will also be learning how to use a print press to transfer images from your carved linoleum block to paper. You will be so impressed with how easy and fun this process is! You can use your carved block for any occasion; making your own card or postcard, use as a stamp for stationary or even frame your print and hang it in your home. It’s up to you in this fun Relief Printmaking Workshop!

The price of the workshop includes a kit with a 4” x 5” linoleum block, a carving tool with various tips for different types of cuts, a brayer to roll ink onto your block, a tube of black ink, and an instructional booklet. You can print your custom made block up to 10 times, at this workshop, on quality paper for a beautiful edition to keep or share with others!

Tapestry Weaving Workshop

Have you ever wanted to try weaving a textile using a loom? This Tapestry Weaving Workshop is the perfect introduction on how to weave your own tapestry! By the end of this 4-hour workshop you will have a beautiful handmade textile to hang on your wall at home or give to someone special. In this workshop, we will be going over the basics of various weaving techniques and how to use tools for weaving; weaving shuttle, weaving needle & weaving comb, and also, how to develop a pleasing composition and choosing the right colors for your tapestry.

The price of the workshop includes your own 10 x 8 inch loom & tools (that you take home at the end of the day!), lots and lots of yarn in different weights and colors to choose from, a dowel rod to hang your tapestry and an instructional booklet to take home.

Watercolor Floral Workshop

Watercolor is a beautiful medium that has an array of fun techniques and methods to create a masterful outcome. Join this workshop to learn how to paint flowers and foliage with ease. You will be amazed at how easy your painting will come together within this 3-hour workshop. We will be painting floral wreaths and laurels, a subject matter and style that is elegant and popular. By the end of this workshop you can paint with confidence, knowing how to blend colors, what types of brushes to use and how to plan a successful composition.

The price of this workshop includes the use of various types of watercolor brushes, watercolor paints, a pallet to mix paint and quality paper to paint on.  You will have paper to practice flower techniques on and have one final 9 x 12” painting with your beautiful wreath or laurel to hang in your home or to give as a gift.

Ceramics Workshop-Slab Planter

Dates: Saturday, February 18th and Saturday, February 25th
Time: 10 am – 12:30 pm
Cost: $55 (includes clay, tools, glazes and firing)

This workshop is about creating a FUNctional ceramic piece. We will use slabs to make a beautiful home for a favorite plant or candle. This will be a two day workshop. The first day is specifically for designing and building the piece, and the second day will be for glazing.

*Glaze results will vary.

Ceramics Workshop-Textured Platter

   

Instructor: Nataleigh Everett
Dates: Tuesday, February 14th and Tuesday, February 21st
Time: 5:30- 8 pm
Cost: $55 (includes clay, tools, glazes and firing)
Recommended for ages 8 – Adult

In this workshop, we will create a lace textured platter using slabs. Students are welcome to bring in a doily, lace, or patterned fabric of their own or choose from our selection. Students will have the opportunity to add handles to their platter if desired. This is a two part workshop. Tuesday February 14th will be for creating the platters, and Tuesday February 21st will be for glazing the platters.

*Results will vary from photographs.
