Paint & Wine-Milky Way Forest

For ages 18+

Anyone can paint; all you need is the right tools and the right wine!  Paint a beautiful work of art in a relaxed environment during this fun and informative 2-hour painting party workshop.  Every first Friday of the month the Tin Can Chandelier will be hosting a painting party for the beginner to advanced painter! While sipping on wine and painting at your own pace, one of our educated and skilled instructors will guide you through how simple it is to create a copy of a famous painting or replicate a fun and festive seasonal image. Within this relaxed and instructional workshop you will be taught how to mix colors, use certain types of painting techniques and walk away with a fantastic work of art to be proud of in just a small amount of time.

This is a BYOB event. Attendees can also bring in snacks or food to enjoy while painting. Corkscrews, cups, plates and silverware provided.

Introduction to Acrylic Painting (6 weeks)

The purpose of this class is to help you understand and feel comfortable with the various techniques and approaches to painting. Learning how to use various types of tools for painting, understanding color theory, developing the form of objects and examining composition are only a few things that you will learn throughout this 6 week class! We will be focusing this class around acrylic painting as the primary medium.

Each class is dedicated to a particular process. As the class continues to progress throughout the 6 weeks, the projects will build on your new learned skill sets. You are encouraged to practice techniques and processes gone over in class at home and will be given optional “homework” to do at your leisure.

Ceramics (5 weeks)

Over this 5 week course, students will gain a good understanding on how to throw on the wheel, trim their pieces as well as several hand-building techniques. This class will also allow time for students to glaze their pieces. Students will finish this course with several completed pieces. This class is for the person who has never worked with clay in their life, or one who wants a more in-depth understanding of ceramics that might be looking to refresh their skills.

Learning to draw begins with seeing objects in a way you haven’t thought of before. Expressing an idea through line, shape, value, texture & space are essential key concepts that will be taught in this course. These concepts (the foundations of art and design) will equip you to understand how to see the world around you in a different way! We will explore various types of tools for drawing, like compressed charcoal, vine charcoal, conté crayon and graphite pencils.

Each class is dedicated to a particular process. As the class continues to progress throughout the 6 weeks, the projects will build on your new learned skill sets. You are are encouraged to practice at home using optional drawing exercises provided by the instructor to do at your leisure.

Get to Know Your Sewing Machine

Were you gifted a sewing machine or bought one for yourself only to find that you never learned how to use it? Daunted by the task of taking the time to teach yourself? Spend 2 hours with Rachel and let her teach you everything you need to know from threading your needle and bobbin to when to use all those different stitch setting and what their purposes are.

During this workshop, students will make an envelop clutch utilizing their new-found skills. Students will need to bring in their own sewing machine to use, a bobbin, seam ripper and their owners manual if they have one. Fabrics, thread, buttons, scissors, etc. will be provided by the TCC.

Arm Knitting

For ages 18+

During this fun evening out, Rachel will demonstrate how to knit a scarf using your own arms. This popular way of knitting will allow you to create a scarf that you will be able to wear right out of the TCC! You don’t need to be a knitter at all to join, but if you are, you will be familiar with the technique right away. Did I also mention you can bring wine?? Imagine a bunch of girls having fun trying to sip wine will knitting with their arms! This will be a fun time for sure, you won’t want to miss it! Bring a friend or come and meet a new one!

Bring your wine of choice and we’ll provide the rest. Corkscrews and cups provided.

Wood-Working for Women

Date: Tuesday, March 7th, 6-8pm

This DIY workshop will introduce you to basic wood working skills while creating an eye-catching and fun project for your home, children, or for yourself to use! This month will feature the creation of 2 picture plaques as seen on Ohmy-creative.com. After building the plaques, students will be able to stain or paint them, give them a worn finish, (if so desired) and then use them to show off their favorite photos or artwork. Spend a couple hours with us having fun and leave with a completed project that will be ready to use as soon as you arrive home.
